Super Hero Movie For Her

The latest craze in Hollywood is The Comic Book Movie genre. (By the way it is my favorite genre in films.) Many theatrical features from both Marvel and DC have pulled in some astronomical amounts of cash. The top earners of course are The Bat-Man films for DC and The Spider-Man films for Marvel. The question I want to pose to Hollywood is: When is a Female Super Hero going to have a solo shot in a feature film? A Good Film! Not anything that resembles Elektra, Cat-Woman or Stretching back into the 80’s with Super-Girl.

All the actresses that portrayed the comic book characters are beautiful women, but the films were just lousy. This day in age is an epic time to be a fan-boy, but how about the time for a fan-girl? There have never been so many proud women that cheer for the comic book films than within the past five years. I think Marvel and DC need to tap into some of their underused female Super Heroes and put forth the effort into a Great script as well as the Special Effects and bring a Heroine to the masses.

George Lucas has just begun to tap into the market with the character of Asoka Tano. Even though The Clone Wars movie wasn’t the best from Lucas Films, it did spark the series for Cartoon Network and introduced a strong female lead character. At last a female Jedi that has more than a few lines of dialogue in a film. She is also a reoccurring character in the Clone Wars episodes on Cartoon Network. The character is a fan favorite for girls that watch The Clone Wars with their brothers.

I’m still curious about the reason DC hasn’t tapped into its Wonder Woman franchise yet. A well written script could do Wonders for the character. (Lame pun intended.) I’m not talking about just casting a gorgeous woman to play the lead role, but also have a strong story that draws the new generation of fan-girls to go to a comic book movie. The Twilight Films are the limited option for these fan-girls at the present time.

Paragraph.
I think Marvel has more of a challenge on there hands. They don’t really have that iconic female hero like DC has. Although, I do like the character of Spider-Girl. The fan base is already there with the success of the Sam Raimi’s, Spider-Man films. The character would be familiar like Super-Girl was in the 80’s after the Super Man films captured the interest of the masses. I think the character would reach out to females of all ages. The right actress that exudes the screen presence and that is easy on the eyes will also bring in the male viewers.

Everyone knows that the movies won’t kill off Spider-Man and that May Jane and Peter Parker eventually get married. The setting could take place in the future and the story would follow the Parker’s daughter, May Parker. (Just like from the Comics.) I have actually written a script which readers will be able to find below. I am only going to post 7 pages of the script because I’d like to try to shop it around before I just give the story away to the public. By the way it’s an entirely new story than in the comic books.
